2021. The year so far.

I don't usually do an update before the end of the year and typically do a full year end review in December or January. But I'm sitting at home anxiously awaiting my go date for the next set of trips and realized I really haven't kept up with this blog. So although some of the following is detailed in individual blog entries I'd thought I'd load up a post with this year so far. Much of it is not in other posts. Photos are grouped but mostly randomly ordered. There is still some activity left out of this update, but hopefully I'll get it logged in the year end wrap.

WARNING: Excess photos ahead!

Jeep doing duty as plow.

Bikepacking with the BurritoPackingNV Facebook group.

Finding water in the desert is always nice!

Shay modeling the latest bikepacking accessories.

Winnemucca Dunes with Wyatt, Joannie and Chuck.

The only time I've run tubes in years. Yep.

I did the Anza-Hapaha route on Bikepacking.com in February.

Bikepacking Saline Valley in March.

Legendary!

Sometimes you find water in the desert...

and sometimes you cache it.
Hamilton Ghost Town bikepacking.

Belmont Mill

Camp on the outskirts of Hamilton.

Lawnmower repair.

Yep. That happened. Yay!? for computers!

Carburetor? Really?

Yep. It goes to this. Boat repairs. Thankfully no computers.

The chickens were busy growing up.

I also did some work on the Jeep.

Joannie's new wheels!

I bought a new hardtail frame and built it up. AKA, my new wheels!

Kirk

Joannie, Kirk, Wyatt and I did a backpacking trip down a relatively unfrequented canyon down to Lake Powell with our packrafts.

We found and saw things.

And Kirk got swallowed in the mud while we laughed!

Wyatt was hot and thirsty after we climbed out of the canyon.

...and was ready to get in the Jeep, whatever it took.

Joannie cooling off with Wyatt, midsummer.

Meanwhile I was riding my bike.

Raining over the Carson Valley.

Much of this view is now burned out 😢.

The brand new Lily Lake trail. I wonder if anything is left after the raging Caldor Fire.

A lil' smokey!

I also rode with my friend Doug. Yes another Doug.

We took a another trip to Lake Powell. A decidedly luxurious and non-human powered family trip.

Scott with Wyatt

Kirk and Laura

Scott and Cierra.

Joannie with Cierra and Joey.

And now it's mid September. Joannie's getting ready to go visit family in S. California and like I mentioned in the opening, I'm just waiting for my go date for the next set of adventure's.
