Beauty And The Beast Tour

Jan 2018 Posted by Doug.
Starting off the new year with a fun bikerafting, bikepacking route. Beautiful down canyon riding, scenic flatwater rafting. The ride back out to Boulder City was tougher than expected. Deep sand, steep rocky hike-a-bikes. Good fat bike territory.

Day one we rode down a canyon to access the Colorado river a few miles below Hoover Dam. Pretty easy but the scenery was awesome.

There were a few minor obstacles to get the bikes down.
Then we were at the river. Time to blow up and load up the packrafts!

We camped two nights on the river then took out at Burro wash. The plan was to ride up the jeep road and back to Boulder City.
The going was a little tough. Especially in the lower reaches of the canyon. But it's never a complete trip without a little hike-a bike.
But we made it back after overnighting in the canyon. And after another overnight in a hotel in Boulder City. I rode back over the bridge and down hwy 93 to retrieve the truck. And it began raining as I drove back to Boulder City. I guess timing IS everything!
