Born somewhere around 1880, Queho was an early 1900's renegade Native American who was known to have committed at least some of the thefts and murders that were attributed to him. At the time it seems nearly all the murders that occured in or around the lower Colorado basin were blamed on Queho.
Joannie and I decided to make a visit to his hideout/home. A more miserable home to spend a significant portion of your life is difficult to imagine.
Here is an interesting link about Queho that may or may not be accurate. Below are the photos of our visit to the cave.

Which route did you guys use to get up there? I've hiked up there a couple of different ways. The first time from some not Queho's Cove 3/4 mile from Willow and approached the cave from along the ridges from the southeast. After that I've always approached along the base of the cliff from the west, having made beach 1.25 miles from Willow, and ascended the big drainage SW of the cave.
ReplyDeleteWe approached from the cove also from the SE. Somewhere on your site you had a pin of the cave so I correlated that on Google Earth and of we went! Thanks BTW!
